Becky JohnsonHostWe have been in a series all year long, which I'm pausing for a few weeks again, because I just have something really on my heart that I want to talk to you about that I believe God wants to do in the area of generosity.
And although money will be talked about over the next few weeks, my heart is to move you beyond just thinking about money with generosity, but your life being generous.
If you've done any type of remodel in your home, or if you've done any type of construction, you're gonna run into, especially around the remodel concept, you're gonna run into load-bearing walls.
Now, I'm assuming most of you in this room would know what a load-bearing wall is.
First time I encountered a load-bearing wall was when we had bought a house when we were, my wife and I were in our 20s and bought a house, and when we were in there, there was the kitchen and a wall, Then the living room, if you know my wife at all, she doesn't like compartmentalized things.
So we wanted to see if we could kind of take that wall down and so we could connect all these rooms with a more open concept.
And so when you bring in a construction guy, and first thing he tells us is, that's a load-bearing wall.
And I'm like, well, why is that a problem? You can't mess with load-bearing walls.
Because load-bearing walls are the walls in a structure that are actually holding up what's above them.
The roof, the ceiling, the second floor, whatever's up there, it's holding that weight and distributing that weight to the foundation.
