This week Mandy has Mary Payne Gilbert, host of the Pink Shade Podcast, on to discuss another eventful week in Bravo. Mary Payne and Mandy chit chat a bit before getting into the Real Housewives of…
Mary Payne GilbertGuestI feel like just based off what I've seen on social media, my takes on the Summer House reunion might be a bit different than some other people's.
So the first thing that I think is an area of disagreement is when Bailey said she was worried about Amanda at the beginning of the episode.
I thought that was a really thoughtful thing, and I'm worried about Amanda as well.
And [sighs] I've just never seen someone so disassociated and disconnected from her own feelings that I'm almost at this point not shocked at the behavior that she's done because she seems to be so disassociated from her own thoughts and feelings that she can't quite put things together.
And I know people don't like when you call out people's weight or potential food or eating issues, but I think it needs to be said that she's gotten extremely frail, and that does impact your behavior and your mood and your thought processes.
And so I, I worry about her general wellbeing, and I do feel like there's a lot of folks watching this show, and it won't stop until her or Wes, like, harm themselves it feels like.
But the amount of vitriol that they are receiving, I really wish people would put that towards something a little more productive.
Uh, c- can we, can we find some other issues to get, like, that riled up about? Because it feels like people put so much energy in this scandal, and they wanna take it out on Amanda because she reminds them of some bitch from high school, and they're recreating it as if it happened to them.
What was very annoying is that Amanda's big thing was like, "I'm not a cheater," right? She's like, "I wouldn't do anything inappropriate." But she did, and I appreciate that Mia called out Wes' inappropriate behavior during the season.
But Amanda for many years while married was flirting openly with Wes, with Jesse, with Ben in a way that I, I think is inappropriate.
And I don't think they got together in 2025, but from what we've been hearing and things that West has said from many years ago, I think he's been into Amanda for a very, very long time.
