What if our deepest purpose begins with loving the people closest to us and learning to cherish the life we’ve been given? In this episode of *Investigating Ikigai*, Rev Joe Taylor speaks with…
I do think that at bottom, my work comes behind my central purpose of loving those given to me and also receiving my own gift as a life and giving it back to others as well.
I hope in some way that my life can maybe perhaps in some small, small way be a gift to those that I work with.
That's a very helpful way of looking at it, because I think so often when we think of purpose, when we think of meaning, we automatically go to that which we spend most of our days doing, our work.
And maybe that when I reflect on what you're saying, the sense of finding purpose in what we do.
And I think what I'm doing for myself, it's also finding purpose in who I'm being and who I am becoming, particularly in relationship and in life.
Maybe then as a bit of a segue into that space of all of the things you have done and you continue to do, the many books you have written, the churches you have run and been a part of, and the ministry and the work you do now with virtual accompaniment and giving exercises.
my understanding of my purpose in terms of to love, to live, has a very deep relationship to my faith.
