I would argue that autumn started officially on the 1st of August in this country.

That may be different where you are, but in this country, we start autumn on the 1st of August as enshrined in law.

And I've just realized this whole summer, this whole summer past, I don't think I've had a single encounter.

By shit, I mean weeds and unwanted growth that's all over the place, growing up everywhere that needs to be pulled up and dealt with.

In fact, in the last few years, any encounters I've had with wasps or bees has been inside the house.

I don't seem to meet them outside a lot and I tend to avoid going out in bright sunlight.

Maybe that's why, but no, I haven't had any encounters with wasps in the house.

Usually when I encounter insects in this house, there's a cat available to deal with it.

A cat will come along and say, oh, there's a spider or a fly on the wall that's not very aware of its surroundings.
