I'm Already Scared with Dr. Adam

We're back with season 2 of Paranormal State! And this is a total banger if you're worried. First, a spooky listener story (send yours to alreadyscaredpod@gmail.com) then Chip Coffey! Ryan Buell! Loud…
But first, we're going to talk about Leslie.
So let's do that.
Let me read you her story.
The one person that made me feel like it's okay to be me died March 5th, 2023.
His death was quick and somewhat unexpected, at least to me.
I didn't get a last conversation with him.
I spoke to him in the hospital, but he was on his way out and beyond responding.
There were no last words, no final goodbye, and certainly not that last proud of you less I so desperately needed, even one month shy of 50.
A few months later, an old friend talked me into seeing a psychic.
She swore by him.
She'd seen him before and had an experience that made me, a staunch and somewhat rude skeptic, almost believe.
So, I agreed to a session with him, out of devastating grief and some unrealistic hope for relief or closure or even that goodbye.
I looked for him everywhere.
I couldn't feel him.
Not at my parents' house.
Not in the music we shared.
So, I drove a couple hours to meet up with Robin and go to our psychic sessions.
Dr. Adam, when I tell you that this experience changed my entire perspective on life and death, I am not exaggerating.
Alexander knew only my first name.
I gave him zero information about my ex-husband, who was still struggling with his drug addictions, or my two queer children, or the death of my father.
He knew things about all of them, but was vague enough to blow him off.
