Introducing II Cents-Cornell fraternity sexual assault Case

Send us Fan Mail Silence is how predators stay comfortable and survivors get erased. We’re putting direct language to a topic too many schools and communities try to soften, spin, or bury: campus sexual assault, consent, and the damage done when someone says “stop” and the other person keeps going. We break down what consent actually means in real life, not in theory. If someone is passed out or unconscious, they can’t consent. If someone agrees and then changes their mind mid-act, consent ends immediately. We also talk about the cultural excuses that get tossed around to pressure women to comply, and why “you’ll be alright” is the only honest response to entitlement disguised as discomfort. From there, we turn to the bigger system around campus rape culture: allegations getting pushed under the rug, social posts disappearing, and safety basics like cameras that “never worked.” We challenge the reflex to blame the victim for being at a frat house or for what she wore, and we put responsibility where it belongs: on the person who chose to violate consent, and on institutions that choose reputation over protection. We also address why survivors may speak out months later, how trauma can paralyze reporting, and why delay is not a lie, it’s often a symptom. We close with straightforward campus safety tips like moving with a friend and looking out for each other, especially during high-risk times like homecoming when older visitors may target younger students.
