Recently had a look back at the first 12 episodes of this podcast, and the word that popped up over and over and over again was permission.

And I think as women, particularly midlife women, I'm a little older than you, but we've lost that ability to give permission to ourselves, right? We allow for things for our children.

If we're caring for our elderly parents, for our partners, for everybody else in the world, but giving ourselves that permission is huge.

And for somebody who has set her last manuscript down, not for five years, but for about five months, maybe.

you do have to find your way back into saying, listen, I can give myself time for this, whether it's that or it's just straight up creativity and play in your everyday life.

I love to hear that there are more people out there trying to encourage that in other people.

And also we have not disclosed our ages to each other, but maybe you know how old I am.

I think that what is really relevant, something really relevant there is, yes, this does happen with women and also with people whose voices are traditionally or historically, I should say, underrepresented, have to live inside systems that they didn't create and learn how to be in that system.

I'm at an age now where I have both elderly parents and young children, and there are a lot of responsibilities there, and I want to help that.

But I also need to be parenting myself, and I don't know if this is going to come up or not, but I do also offer a regular workshop called Be Your Own Daddy, which I love.

I had written down a question about that because the title when I found it on your website, or I think it even came in one of your emails, stopped me.

I'm like, what is that all about? Because as a former copywriter, that is quite the title.
