all of that aside, what did you think of it?

I quite liked it.

I was surprised by the through line of like the father-son sort of dynamics of this, which I've not read Treasure Planet.

And I know that like that's sort of part of it, but I feel like they definitely dug into it a lot more with this one.

And so I can see how like this could, this would mean a lot to people.

Yeah, I feel the same way.

I really like the father-son dynamics of it.

There's some things I think are a little bit awkward.

I don't know how I always feel about the combination of animation styles, I must say.

And the decision to age Jim up to sort of full teen, I'm back and forth on.

That having been said, I also kind of like in a way that he's been aged up because it makes the film appeal to this underserved demographic that I'm always talking.

Although it clearly didn't because it didn't do very well.

But, you know, maybe at home.

And I think the vocal performances are very good.

And I admire the kind of long slog to get it to the screen.

Yeah.

Yeah, there's definitely a lot of this movie that is just like, see what we can do, which was definitely like a thing during this period, which like it started with Jurassic Park of like, we can make dinosaurs and then like, and then with like also like Beauty and the Beast and a bit of that.

And I think this is sort of like, the natural end of like the, of animation being like, look what we can do.

Cause we're all like, yeah, we saw it.

We saw it.

Like, uh, this isn't even a movie I've seen.

This is just from the trailer, but I think the Martin Lawrence movie, black night, when he's like a guy who goes back and he's a black man who goes back in time to medieval times.

And he'd like, he's like, look, I have fire.

And he lights his lighter and they go like, we have fire.

And And I'm like, that's kind of what it reminds me of, of like, see? And we're like, we know.
