Uh, obviously last year was mid-80s and dry, so you're not too worried about grip.
It started raining before the race started, and it was raining when it, when we f- when we finished the ultra.
Um, and by the time you get out there on lap two with all the beast racers and, and supers and sprints and all the ultras going through again, that course is beat down, so it's very slippery.
There's a lot of mud spots, and the obstacles are really, really tough, and you're, you're failing or you're really struggling on some obstacles that last year you'd had no issues with.
So I would say this year was definitely tougher, mostly because of the, uh, because of the elements, the rain.
Well, I mean, I think the, it, it, what you said, the, the rain made the obstacles harder, but I think the cooler weather made the running easier, um, for sure.
I mean, granted, it, it was a little muddier, but honest to God, I think it was just as muddy last year on the first lap.
But the first lap, I was thinking, "Dang, we're getting all this rain, and it still really isn't that muddy." But the second lap it started, after it started getting beat down, it was a little muddier.
But one thing I noticed too is, I mean, like I said, I didn't do the ultra loop last year, but when we usually do the ultra loop, I remember us running through some pretty technical terrain on the ultra loop, and that was something we didn't do, uh, much of this year.
It seemed like most of the running we had was pretty, was pretty fair, you know? I mean, except for some of the sections where you went into the woods, but it seemed like most of the stuff we were running on were like, you know, service roads or where they drive side by sides.
So I think, like, as far as the trail running part goes, I think it was, it was pretty, you know, mild running.
'Cause we didn't even go over the ditch where we rolled my, where I rolled my ankle a few years ago, 'cause I remember-
