Grab the free guide: Why Your Etsy Listings Aren’t Selling Yet - and What To Do About It: www.handmadebosses.com/whynosales How many listings do you…
So why do people put so much emphasis on how many listings should I have on Etsy? Like, what should I be doing? How should I reach a certain number? Why is that the case? So it makes sense that beginners do focus solely on the quantity of listings, because that's the very first easy number that you can really measure.
You know, you might not have any sales, you might not have any reviews, you might not have any revenue, so the first number that you kind of are presented with is how many listings you have.
And listings might feel like a teeny-tiny shop compared to someone who has, like, 300 or even 3,000.
Now, what I'm gonna say is a thing that I've always said right from square one.
For years I've been, like, harping on about this, is that more listings can definitely, and this is how I've seen it for many years, give you more opportunities to appear for different relevant searches.
But they can also be detrimental as well.
So y- it's not just a case of more quantity, more of like the same duplicated listing with different photos and different this.
That's not what we're on about here.
What we're looking at is the more words and tags and phrases you can use in your titles, your tags, your descriptions, and your attributes spread across all different listings in your shop, the more opportunities you have to appear in search.
It's kind of like Etsy search bingo, right? The more balls you have in that cage thing, the more chances you have at your number being pulled.
That is if most of the new balls that you're adding has the same number.
Obviously, I'm not, like, a expert strategist on bingo, but you see what I mean.
Now, what more listings can also do is that they can actually give buyers more useful choices in your shop when they arrive.
But neither one of those things, more listings and more choices, automatically means better, which I know is not the answer that you were hoping for me to give, but let me explain.
