Welcome to Darrell K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium in the immediate aftermath of Texas's 31 to 3 victory over Mississippi State.

But if there's one thing you can certifiably say about this Texas football team is that defensively, they have risen to the occasion over the last two weeks, snuffing out.

And of course, what they did here tonight and I think what is most impressive about and of course, we'll dive into all this over the next 30 minutes or so.

But I think one of the things that's been most impressive about it is they managed to do it without Colin Simmons, Jason, the way that this defense has risen to the occasion.

I think he finished with eight tackles, four tackles for loss, a couple sacks, a couple forced fumbles.

And I'm sure Steve Sarkeesian the post game will say it's difficult to win in the Southeastern Conference and he's not gonna apologize for winning.

But we're now what eight games into the year Jason and I think we feel pretty confident that this is going to be a defensive lead team and they're going to go as far as the defense can carry them.

I think it's very fair, and I also think that Steve Sarkeesian shouldn't apologize for this win.

But 31-3, I mean, it's funny, Eric, you mentioned this defense, of course, and we'll talk about the defense, and you mentioned this defense without Colin Simmons.

I remember writing in the game where he got hurt, like, where would this team be without Colin Simmons? And Lo and behold, about 10 minutes later is when he got hurt.
