And this is about tending our own hearts.
That's the, the aim of this, this morning is, is, is tending and sen-sensitizing our own hearts to the way that they're oriented towards God.
So start at the beginning.
Boom, Genesis chapter one, world's created.
Then we get into Adam and Eve, and, uh, they're walking with God in the cool of the day.
There's this relationship that we're shown where they hear God's voice, they're side by side.
And we know that something comes in, doesn't it, when, when they decide, "Actually, we are going to do things on our own terms.
Actually, we're gonna stop listening to God." And I think that's probably a hardening of heart type moment, um, when they'll actually, "We've got it from here.
We're sorted." And I, I relate to that so much.
There'll be something I'm desperately praying over, really stressed about, God answers the prayer, and then I'm like, "Great, I've got this.
Let's just crack on." That, that's, that's one of the things that I kind of see.
He continues to speak to and, and be with the generations that follow.
He continues to speak to Cain.
Cain then, again, hardens his heart.
He goes and he kills his brother.
He, he, he, he, he keeps him safe.
And then, then we come to the time of Noah, and, um, this...
And, and I think this is a, this, there's something in this, something in Noah of a soft-hearted man who in the context of, um, a dry climate, a dry environment, when God tells him to build a boat, um, he listens.
And soft-heartedness, I think, within Noah looks like actually looking a bit of an idiot compared to everybody else.
