in the theme of the last month, the city renewal, I want to talk about living with purpose.
Every single one of us as humans, we've got a core need, core desire to live with purpose.
Any Jerry Seinfeld fans? Philosopher, maybe that's not the real explanation of him.
But it's actually a comedic processing of this whole idea of life without purpose.
a whole lot of activity, a whole lot of stuff, of chasing things, going after certain things, but at the end, what is it for? The lack exposes lack of purpose, and of course he does it in a very funny sort of way.
echoes in some ways actually the book of Ecclesiastes, which talks about life under the sun, S-U-N, life under the sun, this idea that we would toil, that we would work, and that we would get up in the morning, that we would work hard, come back at night, that there would be another evening, another morning, another day, and there would be weeks, and there would be years, and there would be decades, and the end.
But what's the meaning? What's the purpose? And God has got so much to say about this very thing.
He's got so much to say about how much... our lives matter in the context of our greater story.
And I think looking at Australia, at our nation, it's in many ways, it's a nation with two faces.
