You think that thing has like any kind of leg?
No, not necessarily.
But I mean, it's like, you know, it's like a more symbolic type thing, right? Like, obviously, it's not going to hurt Sony's pockets at all, right? But I mean, if they see like a good portion of their player base, just like not interacting, not logging in or anything like that.
You know, it's not going to change anything, but I don't think...
Because they get their paid from, you know, either the games you've already bought or the consoles you've already bought or the live service game you are subscribed to.
Yeah, or
Exactly.
So, like, you're already kind of, like, you know...
It's a noble cause, right? It's understandable with the frustration of where the people are coming from.
But at the end of the day, we're in a kind of a situation where the loudest voices, they often misrepresent how much of an importance a certain cause has, even if it is something that you and I feel passionately about.
The biggest thing that you could do is... do things like not buy new games when they come out, right? Not buy the new console.
Yeah.
Do you think they'll do it? Probably not, right?
No.
Although, like, you know, now there's a different reason why they might not buy a console, because first, you know, it could be that...
It's over a thousand dollars.
It's over a thousand dollars with no sign of prices coming down.
And second, like, you know, a lot of the times, like, you know, there are many people who are kind of understanding, like perhaps, you know, a console might not be the best way to play video games anymore because you know, like they might actually go double down on this subscription and non-owning kind of model by going to cloud gaming more often because almost every of these console makers are turning towards cloud gaming as well as an option.
Like, I mean, the point of a console is getting a little bit, you know, mundane as much as the physical disc itself is, unfortunately, even if like, you know, we know that, you know, there's kind of a debate about ownership of a game versus like, you know, licensing to play.
I mean, the cause for this boycotter, you want to call it, it is strong.
It's very frustrating to kind of see an older model of game that a lot of people have relied on is kind of dying.
But if you really think about it, these people have the numbers to back themselves.
They know how many of their people are buying digital versus physical copy.
You think that thing has like any kind of leg?
