Dan HHOST
38:50
They do some brilliant stuff.
Dan HHOST
38:52
I love Moonlighter and Moonlighter 2.
Dan HHOST
38:53
They're great games.
Dan HHOST
38:54
And it's sad to see them have to go, well, we're just not going to be able to do
Jeff CannataHOST
39:23
They were doing a tower defense game called Revamp that people were excited about.
Jeff CannataHOST
39:27
The Digital Sun made Moonlighter and Moonlighter 2.
Jeff CannataHOST
39:31
They just said, we're canceling our public playtest for Revamp.
Jeff CannataHOST
39:37
Other developers said, we're not putting games into Steam Next Fest this year because of AI cloning.
Andy BHOST
31:36
It's like, hey, do the inventory puzzle and then get out there and explore based on the inventory puzzle decisions you've made.
Andy BHOST
31:42
So in the case of like Moonlighter 2 – There's a lot of inventory puzzling that have to do with the roguelite runs, and then you go sell the stuff in the shop.
Andy BHOST
31:51
With the In the Jungle DLC from Day of the Diver, you're still diving down, but then you come up and you make the sushi and the different food, and you only have so much.
Andy BHOST
32:01
So there's like an inventory component.
Patrick SchweigerHOST
20:06
What a nice surprise to get him back on the show, even by way of a phone call.
Patrick SchweigerHOST
20:10
Jake, I think the only other thing that I want to talk about in terms of what I've been playing... because i finished um galactic racers campaign which i don't think i've talked about but like the whole the whole end of act two all of act three of that game is just fucking immaculate but then i also have started playing um moonlighter 2 as i wait for ocarina of time and uh gta 6 which both of those i think have you know decent chances of squeaking their way into the top five or top yeah
JakeHOST
20:40
um But I don't
Patrick SchweigerHOST
20:41
remember.
Patrick SchweigerHOST
21:23
Is that is that am I thinking of the right
JakeHOST
21:26
game? Is this the one that has the same like visual aesthetic is like Tears of the Kingdom with the neon green kind of? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
JakeHOST
21:31
No, but I remember I know that Moonlighter 2 sure as hell looks a lot like Moonlighter 1. it looks a lot better than moonlighter one i think and
Patrick SchweigerHOST
21:38
like graphically wise but it's yeah it's very much like it has like a tears of the kingdom aesthetic at least in the first biome um but it's the isometric hades adjacent uh feel like a roguelite type and then during the day you everything that you like find in your run you get to like run a shop And I just, you know, it's, it's like day the diver in that way.
CamHOST
54:06
So I guess I just won't mention that during the next one.
CamHOST
54:11
But this game is Moonlighter 2.
CamHOST
54:15
Which is another roguelike.
CamHOST
54:16
I do like my roguelikes.
CamHOST
54:19
So when Moonlighter 2 originally launched, it started with a demo.
CamHOST
54:23
And the demo had horrible optimization issues.
CamHOST
54:28
And me and Anthony both loved Moonlighter 1.
MercuryHOST
92:08
It- it did interest me a little bit, but it's just like, I don't know, like a, I don't think enough for me to really get the game over, you know? But yeah, uh, Processors comes out, uh, it's already out.
MercuryHOST
92:23
Next up is Moonlighter: The Endless Va- Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault.
MercuryHOST
92:29
Um, this game looks cool.
MercuryHOST
92:32
This game really do- does look cool.
MercuryHOST
93:23
Uh, and I, I'll actually try it out.
MercuryHOST
93:25
I'll actually probably get it.
MercuryHOST
93:27
But yeah, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is, is out now.
MercuryHOST
93:32
Uh, next up is, uh, Please...
Andy BHOST
63:08
I'm probably not gonna play it again too soon.
Andy BHOST
63:10
Oh, why, why is Moonlighter 2 at 75 on this list? Okay, Moonlighter 2 is moving way up.
Andy BHOST
63:15
I found you, buddy.
Andy BHOST
63:16
Let's go.
Andy BHOST
63:17
Let's move up.
Andy BHOST
63:18
Um, let's get you...
Andy BHOST
63:19
I'll probably play more Moonlighter 2 before I play Beast of Reincarnation.
Andy BHOST
63:24
I-I don't try and reorder this list all the time, uh, but sometimes things move down to the bottom.
Michael HannonHOST
59:55
So, Fields of Mystery, really good.
Michael HannonHOST
59:58
And last but not least here for me, Moonlighter 2, The Endless Vault.
Michael HannonHOST
60:05
This is a really interesting game because it's largely the first Moonlighter again.
Michael HannonHOST
60:16
And I don't think that's a negative because I really liked the first Moonlighter.
Michael HannonHOST
64:24
But it moves further from that and more into an action RPG where you really are...
Michael HannonHOST
64:33
Like, if you die in the dungeon, you get... kicked out of the dungeon but you keep all your stuff it just decreases the value of all of the stuff in your backpack by half um it doesn't even just like you know in a lot of these other roguelikes it would be like well you you died in a run so i'm gonna you lost everything that you had in your run which would have been fair um And maybe some of the higher difficulties do that, but it feels a lot more like an action RPG this time than a roguelike, which I think... serves it a lot better and i think that maybe makes it a little bit more appealing for more people of like you know it has the ftl style map in the dungeon now where you're going from room to room instead of the first game having a almost like a zelda one type of top down dungeon view um so i think it To me, I enjoyed the first Moonlighter a lot.
Michael HannonHOST
65:39
And I think Moonlighter 2...
Michael HannonHOST
65:44
Not straddling the fence anymore of like, are we an action RPG? Are we a roguelike? Which one? Are we a shop running sort of game? And it kind of saying, hey, we're just a shop running action RPG.
Alexander JollyHOST
34:44
[laughs] Yeah.
Michael HannonHOST
34:46
Um, this week I played more Moonlighter 2.
Michael HannonHOST
34:50
Um, I started a brand-new area called The Gallery.
Michael HannonHOST
34:53
Um, it's as expected.

8 MINS LATER

Michael HannonHOST
43:22
We just put a lot more in it." Um, so but I am enjoying it still, uh, quite a bit here overall.
Michael HannonHOST
43:29
Uh, so that's- Cool ...
Michael HannonHOST
43:29
Moonlighter 2.
Michael HannonHOST
43:31
Moving on here to Control: Resonant.
Dan FinityHOST
35:06
Other than that, I got a couple more things here.
Dan FinityHOST
35:09
Started playing Moonlighter 2.
Dan FinityHOST
35:10
I got a code for Moonlighter 2 from 11-Bit Studios.
Dan FinityHOST
35:15
That is my little capitalism game in which you are a...
Dan FinityHOST
35:18
Oh,
Dan FinityHOST
36:12
And so you end up, by night, going into dungeons, In order to get all the stuff that you need to sell the next day.
Dan FinityHOST
36:20
And so it's that constant loop.
Dan FinityHOST
36:24
That is maintained throughout Moonlighter 2.
