(00:00) Intro: Life Advice Questions Begin (01:20) What If I Don’t Know My Dream or Future Career? (13:38) How Do I Deal With My Teenager’s Attitude? (17:36) How Can I Improve My English? (21:20)…
All right, let's begin.
So we, uh, asked the community, uh, on our community board, "Do you need advice with anything? Uh, I'm not qualified to give advice, but I'll try and you can take it or n- or not take it." And, uh, there was a lot, a lot of comments.
"I need some serious advice desperately.
What do I do if I don't know what I want to be in the future? What if I don't have any dream or ambition? What do I do then? It really feels like I'm stuck here while the rest of the world is moving forward." This is the perfect time for me to, um, respond to this question because, uh, I recently, uh, I was at this place and I was getting something fixed, like an i- item of mine, right? And, um, the person who fixed it, uh, was like, "You don't need to pay me." And I was like, "What? No, I gotta pay you." And he's like, "No, I, I actually want some advice.
Can you just pay me with advice?" And I was like, "Uh, I, I, can, can I, can I just pay you?" [laughs] No, I'm kidding.
Uh, so he asked me for advice.
And, um, apparently his, uh, his kid, um, doesn't know what they wanna do with their life.
And the dad asked me, like, you know, "You seem to know w- you seem to know not only what you wanna do from now on, like, uh, from watching your interviews, uh, it seems like even when you were young, you knew what you wanted to do.
So, like, how can I, uh, advise my kid i- in a way where they'll have something that they wanna do in the future, right?" And I was like, "Oh, I had no idea that I was gonna end up being a musician or rapper or, uh, like a YouTuber." Like, I didn't know any...
I didn't imagine until, like, I did it.
I di- I didn't imagine, right? And, um, I was like, "How old's your kid?" And not even in high school.
[laughs] So I'm like, "Come on." I'm like, "They're not supposed to know what they wanna do yet." And he was like, "Really?" And I was like, "Yes." Like, this, this is the, uh, period of time where, like, you just try a bunch of things.
You just like, you know, you just dabble in this and dabble in that.
Because first, you need to figure out what you don't wanna do.
By the way, um, a lot of people seconded this question, okay? And, uh, liked this question, so I, I think a lot of people are going through this.
First of all, the future is exactly, like by definition, something you cannot predict, okay? So do not be hard on yourself for not knowing what you wanna do with your future or in your future, because no one does.
Like, the future is not predictable, okay? So it's totally normal and okay for you not to know what you wanna do a year from now or 10 years from now.
So first of all, calm down.
It's gonna be okay.
And, um, as I was saying, if you can't figure out what you want to do, just try a bunch of things, because it's just as important to figure out what you don't want to do.
And that's what I told the dad, and that's what I would like to tell, um, gotbangtan77.
Try sports.
Try different hobbies.
You may like it, you may hate it, but learning that you don't like something will at least eliminate something in the way of you finding something you actually like, right? One of the things that I do feel very blessed about, even though my parents were very strict and my upbringing wasn't, wasn't all rosy, there was a lot of pressure, and, uh, at times, like, it, if, I felt like the pressure would crush me.
But One of the things that I'm very, very grateful about is that I was pushed to do a lot of different things.
All right, let's begin.
