The challenge if you’re a growth minded person is your constant change, uplevelling, and growing… means the people, places and jobs that used to resonate for you no longer do. It can be hard to know…
Sarah Scully-LeafHostIt got to a point and I was like, what is the buffet of life going to deliver now? I started referring to it as the spiritual dumpster fire because these were big things.
This was not like, oh, a client canceled a session or I'm tired and I'm cranky.
These were fucking huge things every day that were massively contributing to my feeling of physical safety, geographical safety, relational safety.
And so three that I will share with you is one of them was thinking from a medical professional that I was sitting out here to treat my back that I needed to come back for surgery.
So I was in the hospital getting scans and doing that and having no idea what that would look like, how long I would need to be in Australia.
There was my motorbike accident, so I sprained my ankle and my shoulder in a motorbike accident.
That also rendered me pretty much immobile for a little while where I couldn't leave the house, I couldn't exercise, I couldn't go for walks, I couldn't go to the beach because I couldn't get wet or sandy, I couldn't even shower properly.
And that was really tough because a lot of my life and the joy that I experienced is very much outdoors.
I did not realize how much that was the case until I wasn't able to do anything.
So that was another really significant thing that I found really challenging to move through.
The greatest spiritual teacher and gift that I have been given in this life in the most fucked up form of wrapping paper has been a physically abusive ex-partnership.
I have seven slipped discs and three of those, as well as some spinal fractures and things were a result of that relationship.
And so much of who I am, where I have gotten to, the business that I have, the mission that I have to help people has been because of that.
Even the little things of become big things of learning how to love and appreciate men and see them for the incredible people that they are was all stuff that I had to work through.
Finding physical safety within myself, all things that I had to work through.
Looking at the parts of me that didn't feel good enough or didn't feel worthy that I stayed in a relationship that was so horrific long before it became physical.
For people that have been in physically abusive relationships, The physical abuse is often not the hardest part.
And the reason that I share this now is because in this spiritual dumpster fire period, I was down at the beach, like 7 a.m. on a Tuesday, something so random, having a coffee with a friend of mine.
