Why I’m Fighting for a Maternity Commissioner in the UK...

It was, we started off at 5 Hartford Street for some quite civilized drinks, and then went for a dinner at Dean Street Townhouse, and then we tried to get into a club.

It was, um, actually really awkward because we couldn't get in [laughs] for ages.

Oh, my God, this is so humiliating.

So I spent most of my, like, late teens and 20s going to clubs and being let in quickly, [laughs] because I guess the people that I was dating had tables.

God, this is disgusting.

Um, so it never really felt like a problem.

[laughs]

This is reminding me of the movie Knocked Up.

Have you seen Knocked Up? When the two pregnant moms go out-

Oh, yeah

... and they, like, try to get into the club.

Yeah, it basically-

And they're like, "Back of the queue." [laughs]

No, no, actually, it was, it was, it was fucking exactly like that.

So there were these three door girls with clipboards, like, this fucking iPad, and they were, um, looking at this, like, lo- big group.

There were, like, 15 of us all looking very not old and average, and not pregnant.

And they were like-

Actually, that would've been too, too far, but, like, uh, probably half of us were parents.

And, and they...

Honestly, there was, like, a lot of whispering going on.

[laughs] And then none of us even had IDs, because why the hell would we need ID? We're, like, all rising 40.

And they were like, "Can you get your IDs out?"

God, this is depressing.

And we're like, "Oh, sorry, dear."
