For example, I can still remember from the early days of marriage, my wife Marcy and I, we wanted to have a godly marriage and we took seriously what we thought was biblical wisdom for conflict resolution.
Somewhere we had picked up the notion that when Paul says in Ephesians 4, do not let the sun go down on your anger, that literally meant don't go to sleep until you've resolved your argument.
And so there were times when both of us were incoherent with exhaustion, but committed to coming to a resolution late into the night.
matters are always more clear in the morning waves of powerful emotion that heave back and forth like a stormy night at sea those will come to calm in the morning and over time we've gained some wisdom here but the wisdom of sleep it goes far deeper than things like this it is deeply spiritual It's a way in which our God points us to our gospel hope in Christ, and that's through sleep.
