there?So I think that at that point, you know, I was definitely, you divulge all your time to your children, especially when they're little.

And it, it was around, um, shortly before I became pregnant with my third that I just had this draw to have a creative outlet, something to, um, utilize my brain in a different way other than worrying about constantly keeping these tiny humans alive and surviving every moment of the day.

And so for me, it was, I needed something outside the house just so that I could exercise my brain and challenge myself.

I would just be seeing things on social media of people who are doing things from home, um, careers that were attainable even with young children.

And so, uh, I'm, have no professional, you know, design degree, but, uh, we started looking at these, um, rental, vacation rentals as a side business, something that we could use as an investment.

Um, we started taking some courses and preparing ourselves to take this leap of jumping into entrepreneurship.

Um, he is an orthopedic surgeon, so he is used to also a very formal tract of education.

Um, and so I think for us it was kind of, um, jumping out of our comfort zone and just diving into something new.

Uh, so I would send him reels from Instagram, and I'd be like, "Hey, let's check this out," and he, you know, at first it was sort of a joke, and then it became like, "Well, maybe we should actually try this out and see." So like I said, we started taking courses, and eventually we kind of just jumped into it.

Um, so within, uh, essentially a year, my husband and I invested in two vacation rentals.

Um, and then we got long-term, uh, rentals, as well as, uh, invested in an apartment complex and then bought a laundromat randomly, and this was all with, uh, having a third baby.

Um, we kind of just dove into it, some of it being, you know, uh, getting some sort of former ed- formal education through courses, but a lot of it was just sort of winging it and figuring it out as we go.

It's, it was just, just trying to figure out something that we haven't ever done before.

And so we're kind of at this point we're like, you know, um, at the time we were in our, uh, mid-30s and, mid to late 30s, and we were just thinking, "Why don't we just try something? Now is the time to do it." And so it's a definitely a very random, uh, selection choice for a business to buy.

Uh, but we, um, have, uh, friends that were in this business, and we consulted them, and we were asking, uh, their experience, and then eventually it just sort of became, um, "Do you wanna buy it from us?" And so we're like, "Awesome.
