People cheating in USPSA has been in the news again lately, and Caleb takes on that discussion in this week's episode.
So Would you like niche drama? I understand that there's only 30,000 USPSA members, all right? But the drama leaks out into other communities.
Recently, Carl Wren, who is a fairly well-known firearms instructor, was accused of altering his scores in practice score in order to shoot GM classifiers, Grandmaster classifiers.
There is some fairly compelling evidence that he did intentionally alter those scores.
I don't actually have an opinion on that specific case because I haven't seen the evidence.
Like, I don't know, right? I don't know whether or not he cheated at USPSA to achieve his score of Grandmaster.
for cheating at, I think it was area one or area two to like win high B class or some shit like that.
And then again, they kicked out like five people for cheating, most of whom were caught altering their scores in practice score.
So then a friend of mine went into practice score and he used Claude to run a script and he was able to identify some other shooters whose scores would increase by 15 to 20% when they were scored on a specific device in a specific tablet and this isn't the only time this has happened this isn't the first time this goes back i remember the first uspsa cheating scandal that i was part of was where a guy and i forget the dude's name he got kicked out was caught um altering people's scores uh like this is back when we were still doing like pen and paper scores and stuff like that right like we got good video evidence that he was not inputting correct scores and stuff like that uh and then there's the infamous cheating scandal with tony cowden who got caught altering his scores to achieve a grandmaster classification um That one blew up because Tony is slash was sort of an influencer.
pretty significantly and it's just and i mean and it's it's happened so many times it's happened over and over again and i am certain that at any given uspsa match on any given weekend somebody is cheating which raises the question of
fucking why
