In this episode of the Growing Faith Podcast, Ruth and Stephen from North Westmorland Learning Hub share how their team planned to start a distinctly Anglican youth church, led and governed by…
I love talking about this and I talk about this all the time.
This is good.
This is good.
So we're at the stage where we have a new worshipping congregation of young people.
We have 12 to 14 young people every single Tuesday evening who come together and they worship and we have liturgical worship.
We have an order of service with all the bits of a Church of England service you would expect.
So actually, if they went to a Sunday morning, one of our Sunday morning services and one of our other benefices, they would recognise a lot of the worship.
And what's even more exciting about it is that they are leading their own worship, most of their own worship.
They're turning up there saying, yep, I'll do the opening prayer.
I'll do the reading.
And then we're all praying together.
So we're doing our intercessions together.
out loud and yeah it's just so exciting to see all of these young people coming together every single week and worshipping they're one of the best churches I know

Underneath that and funded partly by the growing faith hub is is that layered approach of of youth, children and schools work that we talked about.
So there are residentials all the time.
There are trips all the time and that all those activities and our media, social media output, all that activity is is reaching people.
Kids from the schools and from the youth groups.
And there's a little bit of cross pollination between one group and another and one school and another.
So there's it's part of a sort of continuum of work in which we're reaching pretty much every child of primary age in the area quite regularly.
And in some depth and in a variety of ways, and also a very large percentage of the the secondary age population as well, all after about a year and a half.
