Sports, Discipline & Preparing for Life Beyond Athletics Daniel also discussed the role of sports in education and personal development. He believes young athletes should have opportunities to compete, travel, learn, and develop at a high level. However, he also emphasized the importance of preparing them for careers and opportunities beyond sports. Being a successful athlete does not automatically prepare someone to manage success, money, responsibility, or life after competition. Daniel's perspective is that athletes should learn transferable skills and understand how to use their abilities to add value to other people's lives. Expanding Opportunities for Students Daniel spoke about the organization's plans to expand its schools and technology initiatives. He also discussed a planned medical company intended to provide healthcare access and nutrition education to low-income students. During the interview, he shared that the organization was raising capital to support further development. He described a proposed $2 million debt raise at 15% interest, while also discussing a separate equity commitment and a company valuation of approximately $63 million.
