Beth TroutmanHostI want to go to the meeting last night because we have some things that happened last night that I definitely want to get her reaction to.
If you're watching last night, you had the City Council voting to delay a decision on the new airline use and lease agreement with Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

And the last I have is I agree with Council Member Masvera Arias on adequate time for council review.

I do agree that we need at least 45 days for us to review this long document for us to be prepared.

With that, if we need to make a motion on that, I'm happy to make a motion on at least 45-day review period for the council.
I want to pick it up there and then let you hear what the mayor, Rob Harrington, had to say about it afterwards, which came to a surprise to a lot of people, including our guest this morning.
We're striking the at least language.
It comes back to us.
Consideration for a decision to be made on November 23rd.
Okay, there is a second.
Is there any further discussion of that motion? All in favor of the motion as amended, which is to have a period for review and a decision to be made by this council at its meeting on November 23rd.
All in favor, please raise your hand.
All opposed? Okay, the motion passes.
I am with some trepidation.
I don't think we've had sufficient discussion of the timeline.
I'm very willing to entertain additional discussion of the timeline, but with the set as it is for the first time tonight, I'm going to veto that motion.
I will work with council to set a time period that Makes sense for council, makes sense for all of us to reconsider this, but I'm not comfortable with a motion and a decision tonight to set a specific timeline.
So for those reasons, I'm going to veto.
I commit to work with council on the appropriate time, the best time, consensus of council for it to come back.
