In this episode we sit down with Kyle from Nujax Airbrush. Kyle shares many mask design stories including working with Jack Ivankovic and Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Jonas Johansson, along with his…
Amazing.
So like going into our last question for today, what advice would you like to give for aspiring artists or goaltenders or even just for anyone listening?
Yeah, like we were talking about before we started, like I think the mass painting world is starting to get a little closer.
Like I reach out to a lot of people I think it's cool.
Like we're all artists.
I don't really view people as competition.
Like I think some of the coolest stuff out there right now is, you know, the guys who are getting mass painted by three different painters each year.
Like, and that's something I've, I've even personally reached out to a few people of like for my e-bug masks.
I think it'd be so cool to collect from other artists.
So I like, yeah, I don't know if people are thinking the same way, but I just wish painters would kind of drop the whole like competition guard wall that they're putting up.
You know, there's, there's one person who has been very unfriendly, unkind to me.
They know who that is.
And yeah, like I just wish it wasn't like this competitive world, you know, I think there's, I think everyone can learn stuff from everyone.
Painters who've reached out to me and asked like, you know, what are you doing for clear? What are you like? I have no problem, you know, I'll tell them what I'm doing.
And then I asked them like, how did you, you know, how did you paint this so good? Like, and, uh, I just think it should be a space that everyone kind of grows together and some really cool work.
And like I said, like, you know, I'd love to collect artwork from, from other painters and, you know, it'd be cool to see just a little bit less of a toxic place.
I don't know why artists are blocking different artists and, um, have negativity there's also an artist out there who just comments on another artist like every time they post about how bad their work is and it's just that that kind of stuff kind of over it so yeah that'd be that's that's kind of my two cents on that yeah
yeah That's so fair.
Yeah.
Like just building, making it a more positive, like collaborative space.
Yeah.
You
know, it's art.
It's not like, I don't know.
We're not realtors.
Amazing.
