In this episode, host Diana sits down with friend and herbalist Tahj Laguerre to discuss personal journeys with plant medicine, the importance of community support, and the nuances between different…
How did you learn about them?
oh uh i mean i'm i'm just from boca so like if you know anything about boca you know that yeah that's literally where the first kava bar was like it it was a beautiful happenstance you know like i just happen to be at this right place right time and they happen to want to welcome me you know join me into their community um yes for those
stupid big
but i yeah no i just i i freaking i love it i love the fact that i got to experience it when i did um and yeah thank god i that place was there for me because i i really don't know where i would be now i truly do not know where i would be right now absolutely it wasn't for kava all of it um yeah no can you speak to that a little bit more
with the how the plant medicine created a community for you it wasn't just because we say this a lot on the show it's it's it's difficult to do by yourself because you know yes any kind of diy approach to your health which you know under current circumstances is a lot of us are dealing with that because you know either we can't afford insurance or the insurance doesn't cover a lot of things so we have to kind of take matters into our own hands but Beyond that, there is a big community out there that will support you.
And you were able to find that at a very important time in your life.
But yeah, so you were talking about that, but I just wanted to kind of get you to talk a little more about that.
yeah yeah of course of course uh those were my formative years you know um and i am just so grateful and blessed that i even got that in the first place um and i i think the biggest thing was that i always had a safe place to go to do whatever i wanted to do while also like knowing that like i would be safe at the end of the night like you know what i mean um i i love the fact that because you just don't have that too much in this world at this moment like it it's it's unfortunate but you don't um You don't even have a good place to even call a third home.
Which is messed up, but hey, at least we can come together and right those wrongs right like we can make community within ourselves like we could just go up to another person and say hey let's actually make something out of this let's make
this
basically what you're saying is it really doesn't matter like what the shared experience is it's it's that we can create community if we try hard enough right
i agree yeah i i just pretty much, it's very hard to take that away from us, from people.
