Most engineers have strong opinions about their flue gas analyser. Very few have thought about what it looks like from the manufacturer's side. Kieran Carter is an account manager at Anton by Crowcon…

And, um, yeah, the kind of engineers do, um, engineers do domestic work, have very kinda different needs from somebody doing commercial jobs.

Tell us how does that kinda shape, uh, what somebody should be looking for in an analyzer?

So the way that would shape it is we have, uh, we have six different variations at this moment in time of Sprint Pro.

Uh, each one does something different, um, to the last one and will help them along in their journey as th- as they're building their portfolio up, as well as a, a, a wide variety of accessories, um, that comes with it.

So it all depends on what they want to actually, what they'll be doing on a day-to-day basis, for what analyzer they need, and that's where we come in.

Do most engineers buy the right, um, analyzer for the work, or do they over-spec, under-spec? To a...

Um, so like I say, we've got our most popular analyzer, the Sprint Pro 3, is our 18-in-one analyzer, so that'll do everything that a domestic engineer will require on a day-to-day basis, but it'll also do the basics as well.

And under-spec, um, if you do under- under-spec, we have accessories that will help you along with your job anyway.

So if the analyzer doesn't do something, we will have a piece of equipment that will do that job.

I, I don't know whether they buy more than they need, but they don't actually use it, but they, 'cause they, just 'cause they don't really know whether it's gonna actually, those kinda jobs are gonna come up.

Yeah, it can be, to be fair, but again, that, that's where, that's where our job comes into place.

Our job isn't to try and, uh, sell the most expensive piece of kit that they're ne- that they're never going to use.

Uh, our job is to find, is to speak to them, whether it's be- on behalf of a distributor or direct from ourselves, to find the right piece of equipment that's going to work for them in the long haul.

Um, so like from your entry level analyzer, which your newly qualified engineer will do just for fu- flue, flue gas analysis.

If that's all you need, fantastic, buy that one, and then, like I say, as you go throughout your career and you start building your portfolio up of what you're actually going to be doing, then you go and buy either a Pro2, Pro3, or you, like you say, you can buy the accessories to do them additional jobs.
