Dungeons & Dragons Episode 1: The Night of No Tomorrow | Fan Commentary

[upbeat music] Hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of The Real Get To Chopper.

I'm your host, Andy Godoy, and I'm back again with another fan commentary.

So today, we're gonna be watching another show this time, 'cause we finished our Ulysses.

We'll be watching the classic 1980s T- kids TV show, Dungeons & Dragons.

Now, I've gotta say, this is my favorite animated cartoon show ever.

I love it.

I feel like it always hit all the story beats.

Loved it as a kid.

Bought it on DVD from HMV, like about what? 17 or 18 years ago.

Watched most of the episodes there, and it hit everything that I liked in sort of like a show.

You know, like the animation, the, the, the music, the characters, the story beats, everything like that.

So it'll be really nice to sort of like watch it now, sort of, uh, near- being nearly 50 now.

So I'm kinda glad I'm doing this.

And I do wanna emphasize one thing.

There is an episode of Dungeons & Dragons called Requiem.

It's on YouTube.

It 100% is on YouTube.

I've checked.

I'm even gonna sort of like copy it, and then, uh, have like a backup copy in case it ever gets deleted.

And the reason why I'm saying, I'm emphasizing this, was recently I, I wanted to do the pilot show of, um, Ulysses 31, and it got deleted from YouTube.

It wasn't there, so we couldn't do it, unfortunately.

But this is definitely there.

Now, for those that don't know, Requiem th- was meant to be the last episode of Dungeons & Dragons.

It never got made.

It was only on script format, and you find that out, um, from, I think it's Michael Reeves on the DVD box set.

He tell...

You know, he does like an interview and says that he was ready to do it, but the show got canceled.

But many years later, it got turned into a comic, l- like a fan comic, and then some fans made th- the whole episode.

You know, it- it's fantastic.

They even got some of the actors to come back to do some of the voices.

They used scenes from previous things and, um, pieced it all together.

Pure magic, really.

Absolutely love it.

So anyway, today the episode we are watching is episode one.

It's called Night of the Dragons.

A great start to the show.

[coughs] I'm choking there for some reason.
