Limor Bergman-GrossHostFor women listening to us and working in corporate, how they can find out kind of their thing, even regardless if it's like starting their business or maybe like how they position themselves.
Do you have any tips of how they can find that? So what I think is interesting is I think that all human beings kind of behave in the same manner, right? Like you start your day and you know you have all these things to do, but you tend to gravitate to the things you like the most, right? You tend to do those things earlier in the day.
I would say pay attention to that, right? Pay attention and be curious to that and find out if there's a way, particularly in corporate, where you can pivot into a role that fits you more, right? So I think a lot of times when we start our careers, we're looking for what our skill set is and how we can fill the job description, right? I think what's missing is, yes, you can do that job, but do you enjoy it, right? Like, are you going to be excited at the end of the day, feeling like you accomplished something, feeling like you made a difference versus just kind of going through the motions? And I think that's where, to me, if you ask me, I think that's where women have a harder time, right? Like, in actually processing, like, what is it about this role that I enjoy? What is it, you know, there's a lot of conversation about, Being in the right seat, right? If anybody's read the book traction, right? What is it that you enjoy about what you do and how can you get that to be 80% of your day versus you spending 70% on tasks that you don't enjoy, right? Like how can you, how can you really shine or thrive when you're the work doesn't motivate you or get you excited anymore?
And I think that women also know Monica, they are, we are really bogged down by the title and the role definition and, uh, you have a hard time going kind of, as you said, like you're bending the rules, so bending the rules a little bit and not like being too limited by what the role says that we can do.
Like, um, An example I'll give you is back then, I remember I wanted more, right? I wanted more things.
And they were like, but you're supposed to stay in this role for a good 10 to 15 years.
We don't ask for the opportunity of where can this expand to or get involved in the conversations of where we're going so that we can start developing the skill set that's going to become relevant, right? Did I ask?
I shouted it from the rooftops because I didn't want to leave corporate.
