Before You Know It - Kygo feat. Ava Max - Commentary

Kygo announced a new song called Before You Know It featuring Ava Max, and it's coming out this Friday, October 16.

A forum thread on Garda Daily first flagged a teaser about a week ago, and then a preview apparently appeared on YouTube a few days later, listed as provided by Kygo under license to Sony Music.

So this is a real release, and the date is on the calendar.

Uh, now, why everyone is talking about it? Because this isn't the f- their first time together.

Back in January 2024, Kygo and Ava Max released Whatever, a song that, uh, reworked Shakira's Whenever, Wherever with a chorus that flips the original love message into a breakup rebuke.

It hit number one in Norway, top 10 in Sweden, and went platinum in several countries, including the US, UK, and France, where it diamond.

Also, Wikipedia notes that it had mixed reviews from critics, which is funny because fans clearly didn't care.

They played it at their first performance together in February 2024, and it was a part of Kygo's self-titled album.

So a second collab is basically, uh, a sequel.
