Hello everyone, this is Matt from the Back Against the Sequel podcast, and in honor of Spooky Season 2026, we're going to do something new and do a little mini-review for Scream 7.

Scream 7 came out in 2026, and it is written by Kevin Williamson and Guy Busiek, and it is also directed by Kevin Williamson.

So if you're a fan of the Scream franchise, you're fully aware of the drama that's happened around Scream 7.

Is that all?

Hello and welcome to Unequal Sequel.

My name is Dave and I'm one of the two hosts of this active podcast.

And my name is Rich and I'm the other host of this active podcast.

it? No, you took

a lot.

The premise of Unequal Sequel is very simple.

We ask our guests their best ever sequel, worst ever sequel, and finally their dream sequel.

Yeah, of course.

Sequel, prequel, or leave it alone? Leave it alone.

Well, I've got news for you.

Oh.

Or the mask.

Sequel, sequel, sequel.

But then, little bonus scene, you've got our two love interests still after Christine.

I love that Christine, our next scene is Christine bursting into a dressing room with her own maid there.

Hi,

Brendan from That Movie Like The Sequel here.

About two years ago, we were working hard on episodes for a season three of the podcast.

Unfortunately, life got in the way, and that season was never completed.

In a post-pandemic world,

cinema needs a kickstart.

What's better than new, original films created by a diverse range of voices? Sequels, reboots, spin-offs, remakes, and more of the things you already love.

Obviously, Brendan and Nick present That Movie You Lied.

Yes.

Sequel, yeah.

Uh, Ghostbusters II.

Oh, shit, yes.

Uh, slasher, Slumber Party Massacre.

Horror comedy, Chopping Mall.

Sequel, Texas Chainsaw 2.

Body horror, Possession.
