Tommy FreshHostMatty JuiceHostSo my juicy take is that any game that has cross-play should also have cross-progression.
But cross-progression means that you could start a character on Steam and then pick it up on PS5.
Same character, same stats, same progress that you've made on the other platform.
I think that not enough games do this, and it's probably my own fault, because when I hear cross-play, I automatically think that that also includes cross-progression.
I was like, oh, like, I'll pick it up on PS5, I'll just be able to chill on the couch, and when I want to go play on the computer, I can do that.
I think there's obviously a technical element of this where... it's probably a lot harder to do cross-progression than it is cross-play because, you know, there's cloud save.
And I'm sure the structure of those is different in terms of like your character profiles and all that sort of stuff.
But I believe like a game like Fortnite has cross-play with cross-progression, unless that's changed since, you know, I played that game years ago, but it had it.
of cross-play and cross-progression because I kind of look at Fortnite as the game that like really like started the whole kind of cross-play like thing when it came to multiplayer games it was like it was people have been wanting that for years and Fortnite did it and I've you know a lot of other games have it now as well so yeah that's my juicy take is that if you're gonna have cross-play you better have cross-progression because if you don't I feel like that's you kind of just like half-assed it almost.
But this is also only for a subset of people that plan to play a game on multiple consoles, and maybe that's where the issue is.
But I still think it should always be a part of cross-play because there's a different experience when you're playing on your computer Versus going and relaxing on the couch or, you know, doing, like, a couch game.
Sometimes, you know, like, I was just looking at, like, World of Warcraft forever.
