We open this mighty tome to a more or less blank page showing us nothing but the Warhammer Fantasy Battle artwork and I put my name stamp in it which I do with all my books.
And then we get to a title page.
I have to hold it like this showing some lightning and again the logo and the authors.
And then finally we get to the table of contents.
Now the interesting thing about this book is that it is divided into sections and each section has its own table of contents.
And then we go to the basic game and it has another page of contents.
So this makes for easy referencing, easy looking up.
There is however no index at the end as we will see.
So that wasn't the thing for...
I believe up to and including 7th edition.
Maybe 7th edition had an index, but 6th edition definitely didn't.
Maybe a glossary with some terms, but nothing like where you could find which rule explained.
So here are the different sections.
The introduction, the basic game.
So the introduction we'll see is about collecting and painting miniatures and making your tables.
Then the basic game rules.
Giving us the turn sequence and a bit of psychology.
Then the advanced rules for all the different types of units and extra things you can get.
Chariots, war machines, stuff like that.
Then we have a magic section with lots of spells.
Then in between all those rules is a bit of background.
