I Raced My First Ever Mile (It Didn't Go to Plan)

So how are we doing? How are we doing? Take me through yesterday.

So in the last 24 hours, I have felt every single emotion under the sun.

So that's a little teaser for you for the end of this segment.

But yeah, I'll start from the beginning of the day.

So yesterday was my first race ever, the Bloor Street Mile.

The reason I signed up for this race is I thought, well, a one mile race sounds pretty easy to do.

It's the shortest amount of mileage possible.

And that's probably the best way to start off my running journey.

So I signed up without Alex's knowledge, dragged him into it, which I think he was pretty happy to be dragged into it.

Oh, God.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And it wasn't just me.

We had a group of like... 10 friends doing this thing.

And so it felt like a Sunday morning hangout just with a jolt of intensity.

Yes, a huge jolt of intensity.

We had a run club, so we had a good group of friends.

And yeah, so the morning was really interesting because I set my alarm for 6 a.m. And normally I'm always just hitting the snooze on that alarm.

Like I set alarms like 6 a.m. 6.05, 6.08, 6.15, like religiously whenever I have work or regular life.

And I always just like hit snooze, hit snooze, hit snooze.

Those alarms

are useless, ladies and gentlemen.

Yeah, and it's kind of annoying for Alex because when he hears the alarm, he usually wakes up on the regular day.

But all this to say, I heard the alarm at 6 a.m., I kind of got up from bed, and I was just like, I'm so ready.

And I was just like, okay, time to start my day.
