Football Fever Cup Edition: Viking victory and an Azteca epic

England 3, Mexico 2 at the Azteca.

England inflict just the third ever defeat on Mexico at that stadium.

Never before have they lost a World Cup game there.

Just a World Cup epic, Chody.

Before we go into the specifics, overall, they'll be talking about that game for years.

Yeah, love

it.

End-to-end, open, wide open.

Both sides going sort of hammer and tong, really.

Mexico chasing the game.

I think I text you midway through going, 2-0's a dangerous lead, they say.

I've never really been a buyer of that, but never has it been more true.

2-0 up, you would have thought job done.

But no way.

Mexico come roaring back and make a game of it.

It is.

I mean, well, I laughed when I got your text because you're right.

Because you also said, I think 2-0 is a better scoreline than being nil all.

At

least you're 2-0 ahead.

Yeah, it was the late great Dave Farrington said it to me.

He said, 2-0 is always a dangerous level.

Surely it's better than nil all.

Or even better than 1-0.

And so often in football, it is the case.
