Jason Pine

I'm Darcy Watergrave.

Jason Pine still disappeared, but that's okay.

We can do it without him.

We have the technology.

It's the 16th of October, 2026.

We'd love for you to join us.

I want to say us because normally Jason Pine's here doing it with me throughout the week on Sports Talk, which normally Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, with Piney doing the Monday and I do the rest of the week.

But Piney, he's gone away on holiday.

The pleasure was mine.

I'll be back again tomorrow with Jason Pine as we carry on doing this.

Hey, if you've enjoyed it, tell your friends, tell your family, tell your work mates, tell all those blokes and blokesses, and they should subscribe, which I'm sure you've done, right? Subscribed so it downloads into your inbox automatically Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

We also have, of course, Sports Talk on Newstalk ZB between 7:00 and 8:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Jason Pine's got the Monday shift.

I've got the rest of the week.

And then there's Weekend Sport.

Maybe there's one or two changes you can make with a view to, to the future knowing that this, the, the cup is already secure.

Um, but interesting, interesting to hear Quade Cooper say to our colleague Jason Pine last night that, you know, "It'll only take a loss this weekend and the knives will be back out for us," you know? So they, they're, they're clearly very well aware that, you know, this is a game they should win, they need, they need to win.

It's important off, especially off the back of the, the Springboks', um, defeat in that series that, uh, you know, you don't want to go out and give up a, give up a test to the Wallabies when you've pantsed them by 31 points the previous week.

I would expect that there's not gonna be a, a huge amount of change, but I guess we'll, we'll find out on Tuesday.

[upbeat music] Football Fever, the podcast keeping you up to date with the beautiful game.

With the voice of football, Jason Pine, and NZ Herald's Michael Burgess, powered by Newstalk ZB.

Well, will you look at that? We're back.

Welcome back to Football Fever with a new A-League season now less than a week away for the Wellington Phoenix men and women, and for Auckland FC.

We look forward to seeing how Pedro Moreira shapes this team and how the, uh, the third album looks and sounds.

[laughs]

The Football Fever Podcast with Jason Pine and Michael Burgess.

Let's go to the Wellington Phoenix Men, who are about, about to embark on their 20th A-League Men's season.

Jason Pine, Andrew Savva, good morning.

Good morning.

Hi, Mike.

Nice to see you guys.
