Join me as we discuss Alaska Ballot Measure 2 with Paul Robbins
I'm learning so much.
Like, I feel like, you know, all of those years in government class, you know, failed me.
But today I'm learning.
So I
This is a little off topic, but regarding like all of the gerrymandering fiasco that has happened over the last – let's say the last year, year and a half.
How would you gerrymander southeast where a bunch of islands – We only have a couple of cities up in Alaska to break a mountain to, and we only have 700,000 voters anyway.
So the amount of money and time it takes to gerrymander, I don't know if it's worth it for three electoral votes and 700,000 people.
There's a reason we don't get a lot of presidential visits and things here in Alaska when it comes to campaign trail.
See, you brought up something that I don't even want to... open that can of worms because I the electoral college makes absolutely no sense to me because that'd be like you know I'm watching Miss America and the audience selects you know this person and then they'd be like oh that's so nice I'm so glad that you liked her but we all gathered up in the back and we've selected you know Brazil it's like wait a minute you know what I mean like what's the electoral college I know this is off topic from ballot measure number two I'm sorry but if you know please School me.
I know it's useful in the way that our electoral votes are broken up more so than the representatives that cast those.
Because I think it's once, maybe twice in the entire history of the United States has any elector actually gone against what the vote did.
