It is a dark, rainy day in Sandpoint.
It is just after the dinner hour.
It is very dark.
There is historic levels of rain falling in the town.
And a lot of people are inside.
Nobody wants to be outside.
If they are, they're quick people running down the streets.
And one of those particular short, small halflings is running down the alleyways, darting from here to there checking to make sure he is not followed uh his cloak is up drenched in rain running through um with what you can't tell are either tears or rain in his eyes
um
winding down through the streets he makes his way past several familiar places inns taverns uh he quickly stops before the cathedral looks at it long and hard and then shakes his head and runs back down to the other alleyway and makes his way to the tower, a short building that is just called the tower.
And it is slightly taller than the building next to it.
Theo knocks on the door quickly three times.
Okay.
There is a sort of a pulse of a light that starts to blink on the side of the door as he is left outside in the pouring rain rushing down his hair and across his face.
The light turns green.
And then before this Theo is able to determine what that means exactly, the door is thrown open and a tall figure in a long red robe with a long white beard and a crazy mustache that heads... reaches out probably six inches across each side of the face and a hat that wide brimmed and pointed brushing against the ceiling the very tip of it is rubs against the ceiling this imperious man looks around doesn't see anyone and then turns his gaze downwards the hat reaching over Theo's body
what The brief light that shines on Theo's face when the door opens shows a much younger-looking halfling than the one we know.
Fear is in his eyes as he looks at the towering man in front of him and says, Um, excuse me, sir.
I, um...
My name is Theo, and I'm looking to...
Spit it out.
Spit it out.
Come on.
I don't have all night.
I would like to do some odd jobs for you in exchange for some payments, sir.
