Surah Al-Fatihah My dear brothers, my dear sisters, as always I remind myself before then reminding yourselves to have taqwa of Allah.

To be aware of his presence in our life as he tells us in the Quran.

أَمَا بَعْدُ InshaAllah ta'ala today will be the first of three consecutive khutbahs where we will be speaking about a topic we're calling Know Your Enemy.

And knowing our enemy, the first question is, who is our enemy? And as all of us already know, our enemy is a Shaytan.

And Allah SWT tells us in no uncertain terms in the Qur'an that he is definitively our enemy.

Allah SWT in Surah Fatih, in Ayah 6, Allah SWT says, إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ Certainly, shaitan is your enemy.

And then Allah SWT commands us, so take him.

Take him as your enemy.

As if to say, it's not just enough to know your enemy, but act in a way that you would once you know you have an arch enemy.

A person that you have to defeat.

A person that you have to resist.

Someone who is going to come at you, come at you every time.

Take him as an enemy.

Prepare for him.

As if each day you are going out to battle against him.

That is who an enemy is.
