Roo and Abi on an Adventure

Roo and Abby had just prepared everything for their grand adventure.

Well, we have all our items.

Time to find the Great Wizard, said Abby excitedly.

Yes, exclaimed Roo.

Time to find the Wizard! Roo looked around, a little confused.

Abby asked what was wrong, and Roo explained that in Roma, her hometown, she had a sparrow friend.

All she had to do was whistle, and the bird would appear, taking her to any place she wanted.

Try it here, suggested Abby.

It might work.

It seemed an odd idea, but Roo gave it a go.

Pursing her lips, she whistled, as she normally did, to call her feathered friend.

At first, nothing happened.

She whistled again.

And from behind a bottle brush tree, two wrens appeared.

They were smaller than her sparrow, but at least there were two.

Roo spoke to them in a soft voice, and they agreed to take the pair to a nearby paddock.

They were only young and had not heard about the great wizard, yet they believed the cockatoos in the park were much wiser and would know the answer.

Turning, Roo was about to tell Abby to climb onto the wren and to not be scared.

Yet, as she turned, Abby had already mounted herself on the closest bird.

Kicking her heels, gently the bird took off.

It's just like riding a horse, Abby yelled to Roo, who now rushed to mount her own bird.

Theroux flew often on her sparrow.

It still made her tummy queasy.

The same was not true for Abby.

She and her bird were flying fast, weaving amongst bushes, doing rolls mid-air, and dive-bombing towards barking beasts.
