Hird & Jobe Sidle Up to Teddy, Coaching Race Heats Up & Ridley's Exit? | Essendon Clubcast

Over to the agenda setters, the coaching race narrows.

This morning, Tom Morris broke that the Essendon coaching race is down to these names.

There's four names there as we bring him in.

Channel 7's football newsbreaker himself.

Tom, thanks for stopping by.

Thanks,

Thanks, Kane.

So those are the four names.

Mark McVay is at the Sydney Swans at the moment.

He also coached the Giants for 13 games a couple of years ago.

I think it was 2022.

Very close to Andrew Welsh, but also a really highly regarded assistant coach in his own right.

He's coming down to Melbourne this weekend.

We'll get to that in a few moments' time.

James Heard, we understand his CV.

We can talk about him in a few moments' time as well.

And Jamie Graham is the only person on both the Carlton... and Essendon watch list.

So he's in for the Carlton gig.

He's in the last three or four there.

He's also in for the Essendon gig.

He coached West Coast once in 2018.

And it's got all bases covered here.

You've got the assistant coach who's played for Essendon and coached at senior level in Mark McVay.

You've got the all-time great in James Hurd.

And you've got Jamie Graham, who I think is widely seen, if not the best assistant coach in the league, certainly one of them.
