In this episode of Eat Sleep Wine Repeat, Janina explores one of the fastest-growing trends in the world of wine: English rosé. Joined by Archie Patel…
I'm so pleased to have you back on another episode, and today, gonna talk about rosé wine, which I think we all know is having a moment.
Global rosé sales have increased by around 17% over the last 25 years, and just all the data suggests that this is not a passing trend.
And of course, with rising temperatures, they are a serious and complex issue, but one of the undeniable shifts is that ripening grapes and, mm, you heard it here first, taking your summer holidays around English vineyards, this is a reality now.
And today's episode is so perfectly timed because this week is Great British Rosé Week.
It's now in its sixth year, running from May the 4th to May the 10th, and this was set up by Archie Patel, who joins me today.
And through her platform, Wine Away the Day, she brings together wine travel and storytelling in a way that you will not be able to resist.
And this year, I am working on the Great British Rosé Week campaign too, so it felt only right that we dedicate an episode to it.
Along the way, I'm gonna be building your sparkling wine vocabulary, so terms like vin clair, explaining assemblage, what does it mean by liqueur de tirage, and make sure you stay right to the end because Archie shares her personal recommendations for some wineries to visit and places to stay, whether you're planning a trip to England or just fancy a countryside escape a little closer to home.
