Oct 7, 2026 · 1 hr 32 min · 10 segments
The DuckTale Dads embark on a new endeavor in this episode. Your hosts read and review each card in the newly revealed set, Hyperia City, and analyze each card’s potential impact in a sealed format…
First things first, we have Frou-Frou, VIP guest, one cost inkable 1-3 with one lore and no additional abilities, just flavor text.
Fine stat line, 1-3 is okay.
There's a handful of 2-1s for that one drop, one cost 2-1s that are relatively playable and a couple of two drop 2-1s that are kind of playable.
So I think Frou-Frou lines up well from that front.
I'd obviously rather a 1-3 than a 1-2, but not super excited.
If I have to include another one drop, I'll put her in over a couple other options, but nothing major on this front.
What are y'all's thoughts?
I think in general, not necessarily with Frou-Frou, but talking about one drops in general, and this will probably be a recurring theme as we kind of cycle through the one drops for sure, is they're not ideal for limited, right? Usually limited, you're sealed, you're looking at your three, four, five cost cards.
Those tend to be the bread and butter that make up the bulk of your deck.
However, the one costs that seem to do well are either the ones that are high in stats.
So a high statted card is something that equates to four.
So this one is a one strength, three willpower that equates to four.
You see two twos in a lot of limited decks.
So those equate to four.
These vanilla cards are the ones that do pretty well.
Or the one cost cards that affect the board state, whether or not they heal your character on play, they do a direct damage on play, they move damage on play, like that directly affect the board state so that you can then effectively trade in to your opponent's board, therefore you getting more of a board advantage.
Those are the one cost or low cost characters or cards in general that you tend to see do well in a limited format.
So that being said This one, I think if you're in a pinch and you don't have any many early card plays, it's still a decently static character.
So it'd be nice to maybe include one or two copies.
But other than that, um, that's kind of the overall theme for one-cost cards.
Great.
We'll move on then.
Whoever wants to take the next one, have at it.
Oh, my filter went away.
That's not great.
