Verse 13 says, Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all to stand, stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness...
We have to learn that we cannot overcome Satan and all of these principalities if we do not understand righteousness by faith and put on righteousness.
Why? He has forgiven us, washed and cleansed us in the blood of Jesus, and He expects us now to take the fight to the devil and not allow the devil to condemn us or guilt us into silence or disengaging from the battle.
He goes on to say, "...and having your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace..." There's the gospel of peace and then there's the world's kind of peace that is pseudo peace.
Above all, taking the shield of faith whereby or with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
And so faith and walking by faith, mixing faith with God's word, even concerning the other pieces of armor.
You have to mix faith with these other pieces of armor in order for them to become practical and functional in your warfare and in engaging in the spiritual battle.
Make sure your mind is girded up, that you've girded up the loins of your mind.
