Grieving the Idealized Version of the Narcissist—and Making Room for Reality! Join The Conversation Panels 1–3 explore the wound, reaction, and encoding. Dorothy represents the innocent, authentic…
Before we do, I want to introduce you to my third edition of Be the Cause, which I have been fervently working on for the past many, many months, actually for the past many years, because, you know, every many years you've got to update your book because you learn new things, new experiences.
There it is.
And I want to talk to the metaphor that is on the cover.
So I want you to see that yin yang circle, if everybody's watching it, hopefully you're not only listening, but you're watching as well.
There's a yin yang circle and that represents the mother.
You see the big eye, which is the nurturing green mother, full of nutrients, full of unconditional love and then nestled into her is the little fetus or the baby and that would be the little eye.
And if you look carefully, you will see an umbilical cord connecting the big eye to the little eye.
And that's where the magic happens.
That's where human connection begins.
And if you snap that umbilical cord, if you snap human connection, you don't develop.
So why do I call this process healing human disconnect? Because we've got to heal.
the disconnect because the disconnect is what creates the wounds.
And just go back to the image one more time, because I want to show you guys something.
So if all this happens in the best way possible, mother is nurturing.
She gives you eye contact, skin contact, ideally breastfeeding, attunement mirroring, lots of unconditional love.
And you get that from the start of life.
Look what happens.
See the little orb on the right hand corner? That is your differentiated self.
So if all goes well, you get to separate from mom, primary caregiver, and launch out into the world with your nutrients.
and be the cause of better outcomes, not only for your own life, but for the life of the next generation and generations to come.
So you could see that I've thought about the cover.
It's metaphorical in nature and it'll be out soon.
I'm working on Final edits and uploading and distribution and all that.
And if you want to preorder it, you can always contact me and we can get that going.
