Hello, and welcome to this week's episode, one where we take you down a path we've not ventured down before, but we think now is the time.

It feels like it is really timely to explore an issue that can keep us awake at night, and that is the governance gap for AI.

And the voices around this are growing, which is so healthy and encouraging, isn't it?

From Pope Leo's thoughtful encyclical paper called Magnifica Humanitas: Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of Artificial Intelligence, which was r- released a couple of weeks ago, to other voices from the very heart of AI companies themselves calling for more regulation.

You know, to coin our episode title, we don't want to be pawns on a chess board moved by others without a say.

We wanna be players with agency, you know, people who show up, pay attention, and can act collectively when needed to ensure our society unfolds in a way that is good for all, not just great for a very small number.

And so let's dive in and explore what we as individuals can do to help optimize how AI evolves and how societies evolve.
