Riley Patterson Is Released1:14 – 4:13

1:14

This has been an adventurous day for Miami.

1:16

We had a couple releases, starting with Riley Patterson, who going into the year, y'all know, I was team Riley.

1:24

It was Riley versus Zane Gonzalez, and I didn't understand why we even had a competition.

1:29

Riley was great last year.

1:30

We had Jason Sanders before.

1:32

He was injured all year.

1:33

Riley came in and did a great job.

1:35

I thought Riley would win the job.

1:36

I supported Riley.

1:37

I said it many times on the channel.

1:39

And then the year started and Riley decided he didn't want the job.

1:44

He decided, hey, I'm done kicking.

1:46

I don't want it.

1:47

And he's missed three field goals so far.

1:49

Like two field goals and extra point, but three kicks to say it that way.

1:52

He's missed three kicks so far this year.

1:54

And I guess during the bye, the coaching staff and ownership group just said, nah, this ain't it.

2:02

And they brought in five kickers today, including the – I guess infamous at this point, Justin Tucker.

2:09

He's one of the guys they brought in.

2:11

And they just re-signed Zane Gonzalez, who we know was in competition with Riley Patterson when the year started.

2:18

I am happy we didn't sign Justin Tucker because that just opens a whole Pandora's box of questions that when you're the worst or second worst team in the league, number two pick in a draft, and you're like, hey, why would you bring in a distraction? That doesn't really make sense to me.

2:32

So I'm happy we didn't do that.

2:33

Zane is on the practice squad, but I'm sure he'll be elevated to the active roster by the time this week is over.

2:39

But what an interesting year and some change from Riley, though.

2:44

He legit was on the streets or on the couch or whatever.
