This week on *Doing It All(ish)*, we’re joined by Greensboro Realtor and business owner Deesha Hugosson for an honest conversation about what that actually looks like. Deesha started her real estate…
Well, so kind of touching on the social media, both of you have a personal brand.
What have you found works? Like consistency, reaching out with other local businesses? I know you guys are both in two very different industries, but what works and what flops when you post on social media?
I heard one time this analogy that oftentimes when you post on Instagram, it's like you're turning a homework assignment in, and you literally don't know if it's gonna be an A or an F. There's not a rhyme or reason a lot of times, and you just have to keep going.
And sometimes your best work is gonna flop, and sometimes that reel that you created while you were in the shower and you just went out there and typed it up real fast is a explosive hit.
It's hard for me, 'cause I do a lot of different stuff in my business too, and I'm sure you do too.
And then you gotta have, like, a little bit of grit too, and not, like, giving up or...
I am totally in agreement with you on the consistency piece, because that's the piece that I've found to be the hardest for me.
But where I have found it to be the best is just being kind of on a whim almost.
For me, in the real estate industry, people are looking for information, but they're also trying to figure out if they like me as a person.
Right? Do they wanna work with me as a human being? Because it's such a human and relationship type of business, if they don't think they're gonna like me right off the bat, which I'm sure I'm not everyone's cup of tea, then they're not gonna approach me to say, "Hey, look, can you help me with my most personal place that I'm gonna be," right? Which is typically their homes.
Like, I posted something the other day, and it was with my hair was super frizzy, and I wasn't putting on makeup.
And I put on there, I was like, "I'm in this season of my life right now where you're just gonna get me in my rawest form.
I don't have time for a curler or mascara or anything like that." And I got really good feedback from that, where people were like, "Oh my God, you look great.
