Send us Fan Mail "Yeah, but." Two words that show up constantly in anxiety recovery, right after a win. You did the thing, and before it can count…
we're talking about yeah but which is a humorous kind of subject but i think it's the it's a phrase that starts many sentences in the work that we do yeah but
oh yeah we hear it it's it's often banned in in our practices you know like where Yeah, but it arises with like, because the anxiety wants to have your worry as the focus of attention and any disruption to your particular what-if and anxiety, whether it's your bodily sensations, whether it's an intrusive thought, whether it's health anxiety, its whole purpose is to gather your attention.
And then when that seeps into our own semantics, we hear it as therapists or critical people where they're like, oh, wow, you went to the supermarket or you went on that long drive with anxiety and nothing bad happened.
If you're a yeah-butter... you're going to be, the retort is going to be, yeah, but, but, do, but, do.
practice.
Yeah, but, but, do.
But should we, should we listen to something that doesn't include a yeah, but?
Yeah, there's no yeah, but in this, and it targets one of the most common fears that we hear.
