#507 Yun Ju (Alice) Pan: Percussionist, Educator, Composer, and More!

Let's move over to Gig Alerts.

First up for Gig Alerts, friend of the show, Jeffrey Broodin has posted some new job openings, including the Houston Opera, or sorry, Houston Grand Opera Orchestra, the West Point Band, The National Arts Center Orchestra, which is in Ottawa, Canada.

So for that one, you have to be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.

There's the Grant Park Music Festival Orchestra in Chicago.

And then there's a bunch of other stuff, whether they're teaching positions in a high school or college and some other auditions for ensembles and stuff like that.

So check out Jeffrey Broodman's episode.

He was episode 473 and signed up for his newsletter on his website and get these updates coming to you every couple of weeks or so.

Next, the Country Calling Festival is happening in Ocean City, Maryland from October 2nd through the 3rd.

Some of the artists you might see there are Laney Wilson, Rascal Flats, Dierks Bentley, Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert, Brothers Osborne, Charlie Crockett.

Yeah, should be a good time.

So if you're going to be in the Mid-Atlantic or the DMV, that stands for Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, maybe this festival is for you, especially if you like country music.

Shout out to a friend of the show, Mona Tavakoli.

She was episode 60, who is currently on tour with Sara Bareilles.

It's the Good Grief Tour.

It started October.

not too long ago, and it will continue all the way through October the 20th.

There are tickets available in a lot of these shows.

And rumor has it, Derek C. Phillips is playing drums.

I heard a rumor that he is a Blue Devils alumni.

So if you are a Drum Corps fan, go to that show, give Derek a shout, and also check out Mona because she's awesome too.
